The concept for Pheno Switch began with the Breakwater Wellness cultivation team (who refer to it internally as “Freaky Friday”). The idea is simple: two phenotypes of the same strain temporarily switch places on our menu. The goal? Growers want to share not only the subtle differences between phenotypes, but also how product format itself shapes the way each pheno expresses its personality.

When evaluated, the Grape Crepe phenos for Live Hash Rosin, Grape Crepe #20 revealed intense, syrupy grape flavors that made it the ideal solventless candidate. #61, while close behind, took on an entirely different character – a vibrant, tropical pineapple interpretation of grape that only emerged in its solventless expression.
